Help Roboy win the AVATAR XPRIZE

The $10M ANA Avatar XPRIZE is a four-year global competition focused on the development of an Avatar System that will transport a human’s sense, actions, and presence to a remote location in real time, leading to a more connected world.

You can become part of the competition team and work on projects to prepare Roboy to pass the semifinals and win the Avatar XPrize.

You can join the teams in Munich (DE), Zurich (CH) or Ghent (BE) or start a new team at a new location.

Roboy

Roboy imitates the musculoskeletal system of the human body. It has thus muscles and tendons, just as we do. This at first makes the robot hard to control, but enables softer motions, better understanding of how we control our bodies and eventually robot-bodies that feel just like ours.

Taking the human body as template, our own existence is proof that eventually we will be able to build robots just as good. All we need to do is figure out how.

Being fascinated by the complexity and beauty of everything, I always had a hard time to limit myself to a single thing. That’s why I have an MSc. in Computational Science from ETH Zurich, where I learnt to simulate just about everything on computers. At the ANA Avatar XPrize, there will be a Finals Prize Purse in the amount of $8,000,000 (Eight Million USD). The Finals Prize Purse will be divided among the top ranking Teams as First, Second, and Third Place Awards.

• Second Place: $2,000,000 (Two Million USD)
• Third Place: $1,000,000 (One Million USD)
